LMA holds talk on business advantages through technology

Ludhiana, August 12, 2014: Ludhiana Management Association (LMA) organised a lecture-cum-dinner meeting at local hotel, yesterday evening.  Ravi Chauhan, Managing Director, SAP India was the Chief Guest who delivered a talk on the topic, “Business Advantages through Technology”

In his talk, Chauhan emphasized that the business in the future will be required to create advantage through four pillars viz. optimizing resources; using big data to one’s advantage; running business in real time; and by innovating in different areas.

He emphasised that technology is an enabler which helps in creating eco-friendly products and processes. He further urged the business professionals to enhance their technology skills to use big data to their advantage. With billions of devices connected world-wide and the technology being available, it is possible now to develop tailor-made products/services for individual customer.

He further said that businesses have transformed themselves into real time businesses where the time boundary has disappeared, and disruptive technologies have transformed business models everywhere, thereby creating new opportunities and threats.

Emphasising that innovation is pre-requisite for success in today’s tough business environment, Chauhan stressed upon the fact that innovation is required in the entire value change rather than the area of development.

Sachit Jain, President LMA, in his presidential remarks, mentioned that technology should not be classified as good or bad rather it should be seen as appropriate in the organisation and the environment.
