Kurukshetra DC ordered inquiry into incident of sexual harassment of a girl student

Chandigarh, May 19, 2015: While the services of a guest teacher posted at government secondary school at village Bakali in Ladwa block of district Kurukshetra has been terminated, a PTI  Shyam Karan has been placed under suspension with immediate effect as they were involved in a case of sexual harassment of a class seventh student of the school recently.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Kurukshetra district administration said that Deputy Commissioner, Mr. C.G. Rajanikant has ordered inquiry into the incident of sexual harassment of a girl student. Also, the Director General Elementary Education, Haryana was asked to immediately terminate the services of guest teacher Rajinder Singh because he had slapped a seventh class girl student in the school on May 13,  2015, which is violation of Right to Education Act. Apart from this, he had helped PTI Shyam Karan in sexual exploitation of the girl.

He said that during the period of suspension the head quarters of Shyam Karan would be the office of block education officer, Pehowa and he would not be able to leave the station without the permission./ (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
