Ludhiana, July 1, 2015: A state level training-cum-workshop for the members of Progressive Beekeepers Association (PBKA) was held at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today. As many as 75 progressive beekeepers from across the Punjab participated in the workshop.
The President of PBKA, Sh. Sarwan Singh highlighted that beekeeping was a profitable enterprise. He urged the participating beekeepers to motivate other farmers to adopt beekeeping as a subsidiary occupation for good economic returns.
The Programme Coordinator, Dr T.S. Riar said that PBKA and Markfed would venture jointly for the marketing of quality honey. He further observed, “In the present era, cooperative farming can pave way for sustainable future.”
Dr M.S. Alam, an expert of Processing and Food Engineering, dwelt on value addition to honey.
Sh. G.S. Kaler, a progressive beekeeper from Patiala, deliberated on bee migration trolly.
