Himachal Chief Minister exhorts students to build healthy society

Shimla, August 18, 2015:  The Government would provide adequate land if the authorities of the Sacred Heart Convent School are willing to start a branch of the school at Rohru in district Shimla, said Chief Minister, Shri Virbhadra Singh during an interaction with Sister Jacintha, the principal of the school.

Shri Virbhadra Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion of inter-class singing competition at Sacred Heart Convent School, Dhalli today.

He said that education along-with dedication enlightened the life of human being and had far reaching effects in shaping the personality of an individual.

The Chief Minister said that the school had earned a good reputation within a short span of time. He congratulated Sister Jacintha for her dedicated efforts for bringing up the institution right back from the scratch.

He appreciated the students who took part in the singing competition and exhorted them to trust themselves and contribute in building a strong and healthy society. He said that one should have love for the country and mankind. “We are one irrespective of the place we were born or brought up,” he said.

He also congratulated the staff for maintaining high standards of education and discipline in the school.

The Chief Minister also announced a sum of Rs.  35 lakhs for construction of Auditorium in the school.

Deputy Commissioner, Shimla, Shri Dinesh Malhotra, DGP (Home Guards), Shri S.R.Mardi was also present on the occasion amongst others.
