Kular requests PSIEC to abolish enhancement notice

Gurmeet Singh Kular.

Ludhiana, September 27, 2019: Punjab Small Industries & Export Corporation (PSIEC) Limited announced liberal one year Amnesty scheme applicable to the allotters of different focal points against payment of enhanced land cost, providing facility of making payment in two equal installments with waiver of compounding & penal interest becoming due on 31.10.2019 and 30.04.2020 to the plot holder of PSIEC.
Gurmeet Singh Kular, President, FICO, urged the Chief Minister Punjab to kindly review the notice, and waive off the interest completely to felicitate the industry in this period of recession. Despite waiving off the compounded & penal interest, the PSIEC is still charging 15% per annum, which would rise the original enhancement of Rs.474 to Rs.1000, that is totally unviable for the industry which is already going through period of crunch. It is humble request that as per the “No Enhancement Policy” of Haryana State Industries Development Corporation, the same should also be applicable in Punjab so as to facilitate the Industry of Punjab.
Kular requested Captain Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister, Punjab along with Manpreet Singh Badal, Finance Minister, Punjab and Gurpreet Singh Gogi, Chairman, PSIEC that the need of the hour is to improve the basic structure of the focal points of Punjab, rather than imposing another burden on the industry. Focal points are the Bread & Butter of Punjab which generates huge revenue for the government in share of GST, Income Tax, Property Tax, Octroi etc., yet the conditions of the focal points are neglected, let apart the movement of people, the movement of goods is also carried out at the very high risk. The load carriages are often found in breakdown condition. The things are more miserable in Phase VIII of Focal Point Ludhiana, which is the recent most focal point, when compared to other focal points of Ludhiana, Phase VIII was set up in 1992, but today, its condition of its basic infrastructure i.e. roads & sewerage is miserable.
