Ludhiana, December 7, 2015: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Amritsar organised World Soil Day on 5th December, 2015 at adopted village NagKhurd, Amritsar and distributed the Soil Health Cards to the farmers. Expert from KVK, Amritsar tell the latest technologies to the farmers about agriculture. Speaking on the importance of Soil testing Jagmohan Singh, SMS, Soil Science guided the farmers to use the fertilizers according to the soil test report. He told the farmers about the importance of celebrating World Soil Day. He also told the farmers about the scheme of Soil Health Card distribution to the farmers which has been initiated by central government.
Dr. Bhupinder Singh Dhillon, Deputy Director, KVK Amritsar emphasizes the farmers to follow and adopt new techniques developed by PAU, Ludhiana. He also guided the farmers to use the fertilizers according to Soil Health Card.
Dr. Raminder Kaur, SMS Crop production speaks on the control of weeds by new improved technology. The Chief guest during this occasion was Sh. Balbir Singh Chandi, Chairman, Market Committee, Majitha. Sh. B.S Chinna, Chief Agriculture Officer, Amritsar, Dr. Paramjit Singh SM, FASS, Amritsar, Sh. Harmail Singh, Area Manager, IFFCO, Sh., Nirvail Singh, AO, Majitha also shared their views about this programme. More than 250 farmers participated during this programme. Dr. Sukhjinderjit Singh, SMS Animal Science coordinated the programme and at last proposed the vote of thanks to all the participants.
