Ferozepur, October 15, 2015: Though, the “Punjab Bandh” call given by radical Sikh organizations remained peaceful and no untoward incident was reported throughout the day from any part of this border district, yet  certain tense moment were witnessed during the course of the day. In Ferozepur, most of the educational and commercial institution remained closed and those shops which were not closed earlier in the morning, were forced to shut down by sword brandishing Sikh protestors.
Hundreds of protestor later blocked the Ferozepur-Moga GT road and squatted near octroi No. seven. These protestors raised slogans against the State government for adopting flabby attitude towards the culprits who desecrated the holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Besides, the Sikh protestors also hold protest at Zira, Makhu, Mallanwala, Guruharsahai, Mudki and created enormous trouble for the commuters.
Those who participated in the bandh call were Ek Noor Khalsa Fauj, Damdami Taksar, Akali Dal Amritsar, Kalgidhar Amrit Sanchar Jatha, Baba Budha Ji Grandhi Pathi Sabha. Apart from the Sikh organizations, non-Sikh organizations have also supported the bandh call and participated in the sit-in dharna.  The leaders have made it clear that till such time the alleged accused are not put behind the bars, the protest will continue.
