KMV Organizes Celebrating the Skilled Youth programme to mark the success of DDU Kaushal Kendra
Jalandhar, February 2, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar organized a Mega Event "Celebrating the Skilled Youth" to mark the success of DDU Kaushal Kendra. It is worth mentioning here that KMV became the first college in 2015 under GNDU to be awarded Kaushal Kendra by MHRD, Govt. of India with six B.Voc courses namely Textile Design and Apparel Technology, Animation, Retail Management, Management and Secretarial Practices, Nutrition Exercise and Health, and Photography and Journalism. The courses under Kaushal Kendra have been running with great dedication and commitment & again in the year 2018, KMV created history by getting a new B.Voc & 3 M.Voc courses namely B.Voc in Beauty & Wellness, M.Voc in Animation and VFX, M.Voc in Textile Design and Apparel Technology and M.Voc in Retail Management. Seven B.Voc courses and three M.Voc. courses are running successfully with state of art infrastructure under DDU kaushal Kendra at KMV. This event was graced by the presence of Shri Varinder Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar, as the Chief Guest, Shri. Chander Mohan, President, Arya Siksha Mandal as presiding dignitary and Dr Shruti Shukla, Deputy Director, SCERT, Punjab. In this event, students of all seven B.Voc courses were awarded certificates from Sector Skill Councils, Govt. of India and many women from rural background who has been trained in vocational education under the Gandhian Studies Centre run by KMV were also honoured by the esteemed guests. Welcoming the erudite guests, the college Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi threw light on 33 MOU's signed by KMV with many renowned industries & also highlighted the success rate of placement of students under the schemes of skill development courses. She also mentioned that more than 430 students got their placement in various renowned companies like VIP Motion Pictures, Itronix Solutions, Pantaloons and Shoppers' Stop etc. The students have acquired the skills to start their own business and came up to be young entrepreneurs. Shri. Chander Mohan, President, Arya Siksha Mandal during his address averred that in today's world, it is very important for everyone to be skilful in his/her respective field as skill is the one thing that can make any person self reliant and self empowered. He further averred that KMV is a National Institute and this national institute is performing its duty of women empowerment very effectively and constantly by providing vocational education to the girls from all the sections of the society and thus, enabling them to become self dependant and financially empowered. Dr Shruti Shukla, Deputy Director, SCERT, Punjab in her speech congratulated the college Principal and its staff for providing the much needed vocational education to the rural girls so that they can also get the desired education needed to become entrepreneurs in their respective fields. She also emphasized on the fact that the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, a scheme initiated by the Government of India to provide quality vocational education to the people of India is playing a very vital role in providing vocational education to the people from all sections of the society. Industry partners Vikas Prashar, VIP motion pictures, Mr. Jaswinder pal Chana, Pritam Film Productions, Anurag Chaddha, Universal Sports Industry, Puneet Arora, Fashion Designer were also present on the occasion. Principal Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated Dr. Gopi Sharma, Director, DDU Kaushal Kendra and her whole team for the success of the event.
