Two day workshop on Radio being held at KMV, Jalandhar.

Jalandhar, January 22, 2015: The Department of Journalism & Mass Communication of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organised a two day workshop on Radio in the premises of the college. 

The first day of the workshop began with floral felicitations of the team of a renowned private FM station headed by Nitin Gupta, Programme Head with Ikwinder Radio Jockey and the promo producer, Harsh.  The team interacted with students in the two sessions of the workshop.  The first session was conducted by Nitin Gupta and Ikwinder who talked about voice culture, script writing and qualities of becoming a successful Radio Jockey.

The post lunch session of the workshop was conducted by Harsh, promo producer of the Radio Station.  He elaborated on the techniques of sound editing, production of jingles and advertisements.  The workshop was conducted primarily to understand the different genres of radio and their growing importance in the present scenario. The second day of the workshop will be conducted by another team of famous private FM Station comprising of Seema Soni, Centre Head, Vikas Gupta and Reet, Radio Jockey’s.  On the second day team will trace the history of radio and will discuss the growing trend of radio in India especially the private radio channel.

Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma was also present on the occasion.  She congratulated the department of Journalism & Mass Communication for organising the workshop and expressed that such workshops provide practical exposure to students which help them to shape their future career prospects. 

Dr. Ekta Arora, Head of JMC Department, alongwith Assistan Prof. Palwinder and Nidhi Sharma were also present.
