KMV Establishes Entrepreneurial Development Centre (KMVEDC)

Colossal Step to Empower Young Women to be Job Givers and not Job Seekers Jalandhar, June 26, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous Institution, No.1 College in India by India Today Ranking, Jalandhar has taken a marvellous initiative by establishing KMV Entrepreneurial Development Centre (KMVEDC) in order to create successful entrepreneurs and providing them a huge platform to perform and excel higher. Throwing light on the centre, Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMVEDC has been established to acknowledge, motivate and guide the students. It focuses on honing the entrepreneurial skillsthat fall in line with the initiative of Govt. of India to encourage the programs like “Make in India” & “Start-up India” whose objective is to encourage entrepreneurship that creates self- employment. The motto of KMVEDC is to foster an entrepreneurial culture, by providing the students, alumni, and faculty, opportunities to transform their business ideas to reality& to promote new technology/ knowledge/ innovation-based start-ups. Young women students are encouraged to participate in the entrepreneurial initiatives and become job-givers in place of job-seekers.The renowned entrepreneurs, government officials, lawyers will be invited to guide and motivate students. Furthermore, the centre also helps the students to channelize their requirements in terms of financial, technical and legal aspects. The centre will conduct seminars and workshops and help in arranging industrial visits. Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the faculty of the Department of Commerce for focussing on nurturing the Entrepreneurial skills of the KMVites.
