Prof. Raj Kumar, VC, OP Jindal University speaks to students of UILS

Chandigarh, February 6, 2019: Prof.Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, OP Jindal University visited the University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University. He interacted with Prof. Rattan Singh, Director, UILS and the faculty and discussed collaborative efforts. He then spoke to the students on The Globalisation of Legal Education and Its Impact. He discussed his vision for the future law students and how lawyers are the ones who shape the world. He dwelt on how the liberalisation of the economy has lead to the expansion of the legal profession. Today students choose law as a preferred profession. Consequently the issues and challenges facing the law schools in India today were also discussed. He stressed on the idea of Global Law and how we are not equipped to deal with this idea. He discussed the opportunities available to a global lawyer. As one of the youngest vice chancellors in India, he brought forth his academic and administrative skills. Dr. Shruti Bedi and Dr. Sabina expressed their gratitude to him on behalf of UILS.
