KMV Celebrates World No Tobacco Day

Jalandhar, May 31, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Autonomous and Heritage institution, Jalandhar celebrated the World “No Tobacco Day” on 31 May 2019. On this occasion, the NSS Unit of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organised different competitions such as Slogan Writing, Poster making and Essay writing. More than 50 students participated in different competitions with full zeal and enthusiasm.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi encouraged the students to participate more and more in such competitions as these are organised to make the people aware about the problems of Drug Addiction. She averred that the ultimate goal of the World No Tobacco Day is to contribute to protect the present and future generations regarding the devastating health consequences due to tobacco as well as the social, environmental and economic scourges of tobacco use and exposure to tobacco smoke. She also maintained that KMV always takes lead in social causes and spreads awareness on pertinent issues such as the present one. Madam Principal distributed the prizes to the students who got different positions in competitions organised on this day.
Mrs Ashima Sahni, Coordinator NSS, Dr. Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare, Dr. Gurjot and Mrs Amarpreet were also present on the occasion.
