Kirpal Singh's Family To Get Relief And Help At Par With Sarabjit Singh: Punjab Govt

Chandigarh, April 16, 2016: The Punjab Government would extend to Kirpal Singh's family all help and relief which had been given to another Indian Sarabjit Singh, who died in most tragic circumstances in Pak jail. Mr.Kirpal Singh Ex-serviceman, had been lodged in Lahore jail since 1992 where he died on April 12.
Disclosing this here, Mr. Harcharan Bains, Advisor to the Chief Minister on National Affairs said here today that the Chief Minister Mr. Parksh Singh Badal was deeply disturbed at the tragic development and the trauma and agonies suffered by Kirpal Singh in Pak jail.
Mr. Badal said that lending a helping hand to the family of Kirpal Singh was the moral duty of the state government. Expressing solidarity with the family of Late Kirpal Singh, the Chief Minister assured whole hearted support and co-operation with them in this hour of grief.
The Chief Minister also assured the family of another life convict Nanak Singh lodged in Pakistan jail to ensure his safety and security adding Mr. Badal said that the state government was in constant touch with the Ministry of External Affairs, GoI to prevail upon their Pakistan counterpart to secure his safe return to India immediately. He also said that the state government would stand firmly with the aggrieved family of Nanak Singh in this hour of crisis. Mr. Badal impressed upon the GoI to make use of all political and diplomatic channels for ensuring security and safety of the Nanak Singh so that he could be freed from the jail forthwith.
