Haryana’s Public Health Engineering Minister Kiran Choudhary reviews the progress of water supply augmentation schemes of the State in first quarter, at a meeting held in Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi on Monday.

 

New Delhi/Jalandhar, July 8, 2013:  Haryana’s Public Health Engineering Minister Kiran Choudhary reviewed the progress of water supply augmentation schemes of the State in first quarter, at a meeting held in Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi today.

Those present in the meeting included Engineer-in-Chief S.K Bansal, the Chief Engineers and Superintending Engineers. Executive Engineers of Mahendergarh and Bhiwani districts, which have been recently included in NCR, were also present in the meeting.

It was informed in the meeting that out of the budget of 2013-14 allotted for the department, 19 per cent has been spent in the first quarter. During the year, target of water supply augmentation schemes has been fixed for 855 villages, out of which the target has been achieved in 34 villages during first quarter.

Choudhary gave instructions for expediting the work and fixed the targets for next quarters for the superintending engineers. 

Choudhary said that water supply augmentation schemes for Bhiwani and Mahendergarh districts should also be prepared and proposals for extra funding should also be put up.

It was informed in the meeting that from the Water Works at the tail end of the irrigation system, water is being supplied under two schemes to 64 and 54 villages.

Choudhary said that similar schemes should be prepared for other villages also.
