Jalandhar, April 10, 2017: A workshop for creating awareness against menace of drugs was organised at a local restaurant today. The event was organised by Kick Drugs, a non-profitable organisation based in Australia and Punjab. Speaking about the NGO, Parminder Singh and Dr Ragubir Singh said the core mission of the organisation is to provide free anti-drug education programmes throughout schools, colleges, and villages.
Further, they said that the organization was established out of desperation to implement a proactive solution to resolve the drug epidemic facing the youth of Punjab. They saud since the launch of Kick Drugs in 2011 the organisation continues to run educational and community awareness projects in majority of districts across Punjab. The organization provides free drug awareness programmes to children who are given tools and knowledge to make better life decisions and choices.
Dr Sanjeev Lochan from De-addiction Center, Civil Hospital, Jalandhar was the chief guest.
Vivek Joshi, President, Madav Sewa Society said the main reason behind organising this workshop was to highlight the negative impacts of drugs addiction to the youths in schools.
Yash Pal Singh, Gurpal Singh Mann, Subash Joshi, Ravi Dhadda, Raj Karan Singh, Hemant Pal, Gurvinder Singh, Rahul Sachdev, Raman Bedi and others were present.
