KCCB  Chairman’s  Election stayed by High court

Dharamsala, March 14, 2013: Ruling congress party’s desire to take over the control of Kangra Central Co operative Bank (KCCB) from BJP men led BOD, has been further delayed.
The election of the Chairman and the Vice Chairman of the Kangra Central Co-op Bank (KCCB), fixed for the day , has been put off on the stay orders of Himachal High court in Dharamsala on Thursday. Sipahiya of Kangra district, who was nominated as director by Vir Bhadra government was all set to take over the Chairmanship of Rasil Singh Mankotia present Chairman.
C Paulrasu, Deputy Commissioner, Kangra, who also holding the additional charge of MD KCCB said, “On the direction of the High Court the election was not discussed in today’s meeting, though the routine work was taken over.”  He said that the stay has been imposed for three weeks. When asked about the petitioner, he said that he is in wait of the orders, whereas the other directors indicated that Mankotia has approached the court on the plea that the nominated members should not be elevated to the posts of Chairman and vice Chairman.
The Bank has 21 members Board of Directors, which included 16 elected, 3 nominated and two government nominees i.e. MD and representative of Co- operative societies.
C Paulrasu said, “KCCB shall celebrate its raising day on 17th of this month at Dharamsala, in which 184 delegates shall participate. Bank shall have its AGM too on that day.”
