Ludhiana, November 16, 2013: The 21st national conference of Association of Medical Biochemists of India was inaugurated here today by Punjab chief minister, Parkash Singh Badal.

The event has been organised by Department of Biochemistry CMC Ludhiana.

Dr.Bharti Uppal organising Chairperson intimated that the conference is being attended by around 500 delegates from all over the India and abroad. There are delegates from Uk, USA, Australia and states like Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, J & K, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, MP, Karnatka, Kerala, Tamilnadu, A.P, Odissa, WB, Assam, Tripura, Gujrat & Maharashtra.

Speaking on the occasion Advisor to CM, Maheshinder Singh Grewal appraised the gathering and said that there is need of good clinical chemist for proper treatment of patient.

The CM in his inaugural speech said Punjab is a very small state as compare to other big states. “We lost much area during partisan, but I am proud of Punjab. Punjab is a soul of country. Maximum sacrifice for the country has been done by Punjab”, he said. 

Further, the chief minister said health care is becoming very costly. It is beyond of the common man. “We in the government are doing best”, he said, adding more costly treatment is Cancer. He further said “We recently open center in Mulanpur and Chandigarh and there are 400 beds in these centers. It will take 1 year of time to work properly .All of us know health is more important than wealth. I congratulate all of you”, said Badal.

Dr.Bharti uppal HOD Biochemistry CMC Ludhiana and organising secretary welcomed the guest gathering and informed that medical biochemist are an integral part of the patient care. The betterment in diagnostic facilities helps to improve the diagnoses and management. 

Dr A.G. Thomas , Director CMC said that the scientific sessions should went on a long way in paving the path to bridge the gap between a clinician and clinical laboratory personnel. He congratulates Dr.Bharti Uppal for a successful event.

Principal Christian Medical College Dr.S.M Bhatti, Mr.Rajendra Gupta were also present on the occasion.
