Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrated by Golden Arrow Division of Indian Army

Ferozepur, July 26, 2016: In order to honour the valour of the soldiers who made prime sacrifices during the Kargil War in 1999, the Golden Arrow Division of Indian Army today celebrated Vijay Diwas in Ferozepur today.
During an impressive ceremony, Major General Vijay Pingale, General Officer Commanding, Golden Arrow Division, Ferozepur along with other senior army officers and troops laid wreath at Barqi War Memorial to pay homage to the martyrs.
Major General Vijay Pingale, General Officer Commanding, Golden Arrow Division on this occasion highlighted the role of the gallant soldiers in achieving this major military victory in a very default terrain.
The GOC also exhorted all ranks to re-dedicate themselves in the service of the nation and emulate the war veterans and martyrs who have brought glory to the Indian Army by their sacrifices. On this occasion, a large number of Officers, JCOs and army jawans participated in the event and paid homage to the martyrs.
Brigadier HS Jaggi, who fought in this battle and lost his leg in the mine blast, was also present during the occasion.
