Sri Anandpur Sahib, July 21, 2017: Bhartiya Janta Party today carried out Kar Sewa at Panj Pyare Park here today at Sri Anandpur Sahib. BJP workers uprooted and cut the grass and weeds spread all over the park. The drive was inaugurated by Sant Baba Labh Singh Ji, Qila Anandgarh Sahib kar Sewa Wale. Kar Sewa was led by Punjab BJP vice-presidents Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Harjit Singh Grewal and State party secretaries Vineet Joshi and Amandeep Punia along with scores of Local residents and BJP workers.

On the occasion Lalpura, Grewal and Joshi said, “The Park was dedicated to the locals by the previous Akali-BJP government on the occasion of foundation day of the Khalsa Panth and the responsibility of its maintenance was handed over to the forest department. However, owing to the negligence of the said department, the power connection to the Park has been cut off since the past four months, and the contractual labourers working here haven’t been paid since the last six months resulting in weeds growing all over the Park. Also the waters of pond where Sri Kanda Sahib is situated have become dirty. The dilapidated condition of this monument has angered the locals. Taking congnizance, the BJP took the responsibility of cleaning up the Panj Pyare Park in its own hands and carried out cleanliness via karsewa here, so that the devotees coming here from faraway places get a place to rest.

Meanwhile, Vineet Joshi said that the Akali-BJP government had raised many religious monuments but all are being neglected by the present Congress government.

BJP’s candidate for the 2017 Assembly polls from here, Dr. Parminder Sharma, Ex. Chairman of the Nangal Improvement Trust, Ishwar Sardana, SGPC member from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Principal Surinder Singh, SGPC leader Bhupinder Singh, Youth Akali Dal general secretary Surjit Singh Chaidmajra, Pakhar Singh Battha SAD executive member Kuldeep Singh Numberdar, former president of the Nangal Municipal Committee, Rajesh Chowdhary, former block president of Sri Anandpur Sahib K.K. Bedi, former block secretary Rakesh Bittoo, Ropar Yuva Morcha vice-president Balram Prashar and block president Ajay Sharma, Principal Gurminder Singh Bhullar, Village Lalpura Sarpanch Tarsem Singh including Harjit Singh, Balwinder Singh Lalpura, Gurmail Singh, Devraj Singh and Daleep Hans etc. participated in the drive.

It is to be noted that since there was no power connection available at the park, the BJP had arranged for a special generator and heavy machinery to cut off the grass and weeds from the Park.
