JUDGMENT: 1 year RI to then Dy Commandant of CISF

Jalandhar, February 21, 2013 : The Special Judge for CBI cases, Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) convicted Bhaben Mahanta, then Deputy Commandant, Central Industrial Security Force, CISF Unit, HPCL (VR), Visakhapatnam in a bribery case and sentenced him to undergo one year Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 5,000.

The CBI investigation revealed that the accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000 from the proprietor of a travel agency for not cancelling his supervisor’s pass and for allowing his hired cars to enter inside the premises of HPCL without any hindrance.
