Jalandhar News- People face difficulties in getting prepare Aadhaar cards

Jalandhar, September 8, 2013: Long queues are seen of people getting prepared their Aadhaar Cards at various places across the city. People are seen suspicious over the success of these I-cards in the future. Earlier, Voters I-Cards were prepared.
Still, many people are still to get their voters I-cards. Besides, people have got prepared PAN (Permanent Account Number) of Income Tax Department under the Ministry of Finance. Ration Cards, Driving Licenses and Bank Accounts are there for identity proof. When there are already several facilities for I-cards then what is the necessity of the Aadhaar Cards for transfer of cash Subsidy of LPG consumers directly to their respective bank accounts, many people ask.
On the other side many people are facing difficulties in getting their Aadhaar Cards prepared due to heavy rush and other reasons. There is a dire need to start preparing these cards at all common places such as Banks, Post Offices, Schools, Colleges and other places. There is a growing demand that the government should not start transfer of cash subsidy of LPG consumers directly to their respective bank accounts till all the citizens are handed over Aadhaar cards.
Niranjan Dass, an accountant, said he has been running from pillar to post to get prepare his Aadhaar Card at various camps in the city but he had to return because of huge rush. On certain occasions, he was asked to come next day but the situation was same on the very next day too.
Another city residents Niranjan Dass said it is unable to understand as to why the government is in a hurry for cash transfer of subsidy on LPG directly to the banks on the basis of Aadhaar Cards.
Still, another resident Lalit Mahendru raised questions on the plea that when there already exists various I-Cards the why the government is speaking of Aadhaar Cards only.
