Jalandhar, September 10, 2013: BJP national executive member Manoranjan Kalia, MLA, met the Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal in Chandigarh and held discussions about various development projects in the city.
Kalia brought to his notice of the chief minister about the necessity of ROBs and URBs at various railway crossings in the area of Jalandhar Central Assembly Constituency.
He added there is a dire need of ROB/URB at the railway crossings on the Amritsar – Delhi and Delhi – Jammu as the there is huge frequency of the rain traffic on these sections. Likewise, the railway crossings at
Dhannowali and Dakoha remain closed most of the time, causing inconvenience to people. Similar is the situation at Ladewali, Gurunanakpura /Chugutti and Bashirpura.
He pointed out that many residential colonies have mushroomed around these railway crossings, resulting to which vehicular traffic has increased manifold.
He urged upon the chief minister to take up this matter with the Union Minister for Railways.
Besides he sought maximum number of funds for development of the areas falling under his assembly constituency.
