Jail inmate booked for an attempt to commit suicide

Ferozepur, February 8, 2018: One person identified as Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Village Dagru in Moga district who is presently lodged in Ferozepur Central Jail has been booked by the police for an attempt to commit suicide. Earlier, the jail officials had recovered a mobile phone (Samsung, with SIM card and battery) from him two days ago alongwith 3 pouches of intoxicated powder. Kuldip allegedly made an attempt to commit suicide by hanging from the fan when he was in his barrack.

A complaint was lodged by jail officials at city police station following which the police booked Kuldeep under Sections 52-A Prisons Act 1894, 22/61/85 NDPS Act.
