Chandigarh, September 23, 2016: In a press statement released from Patna where he attended the International Sikh Conference being held as part of the celebrations for the 350th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Jagmeet Singh Brar has hailed the efforts of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for their efforts towards making the celebrations a success

Brar attended the event as a guest of the Government of Bihar and interacted with Sikh leaders from around the world at the conference, saying that the legacy and message of Sri Guru Gobind Singh remains a guiding light for many leaders he congratulated CM Nitish Kumar for his dynamic leadership and efforts to alleviate the woes of the people of Bihar.

He said “Nitishji has taken bold and commendable decisions which will have a far reaching positive impact in establishing the rule of law and justice in Bihar - I laud his efforts, and pray to our Guru Gobind Singh Ji that his teachings of justice and equality guide the efforts of the next government in Punjab in reviving the rich traditions of Punjab and taking it back on the path our Gurus showed us”

Brar laid stress on the religious and cultural ties between Punjab and Bihar during the conference and said “Our 10th Guru began his worldly journey from this land of great learning which is home to Nalanda, and mother to both Buddha and Chanakya, India’s religions and politics both find their deep roots in this great land. During the freedom struggle Bihar & Punjab played a crucial role and Bhai Randhir Singh of the Ghadhar Movement was incarcerated in Hazaribagh jail, later Bihar gave us socialist icons like Jay Prakash Narain”

He appreciated the efforts and preparations of the Government of Bihar for hosting the 350th Parkash Purab celebrations to be held in Patna in January 2017 during which Sikh devotees from all over the world will arrive in Patna and said “In my brief interaction with Nitishji, he assured me that preparations for the mega event are well underway and that no effort or expense will be spared to make this historic event a grand success”
