Jalandhar, October 15, 2016: A two day Inter-Departmental Competition IT-Spark-2016 began in Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar on Friday. In this tech fest organised by the P.G Department of Computer Science and IT of the college, over 500 students divided in 7 houses participated in 20 technical and semi-technical events.
In her inaugural address the President of the college management Sardarni Balbir Kaur said that college aimed at providing quality education to its students and organizing such activities was in line with that aim. She welcomed the Chief Guest of the occasion Dr. Hardip Singh Professor Department of Computer Science and Engg, Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar who in his address urged the students to acquire practical skills in every sphere of knowledge.
Speaking to the present, college Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra said that the technical education was the most desired thing in developing as well developed countries and it led to ample job opportunities, and with effective practical skills one could easily find for oneself good placement.
The Head of the Department Prof. Manohar Singh informed that on the first day today, competitions were held in Tech-GD, Idea Snapshot, Web Portal Development, Test Your Technical Skills, Logic Whirlpool, IT Cartooning, Net Savvy, IT Rangoli, IT Collage, Pixel Plus, Debugging, Logo Designing, Software Showcase, IT Extempore, IT in Colors, IT Quiz Screening, and on the second day competitions would be held in Hands on Keyboard, IT Quiz Final, Ad-Mad Show, Personality Face off and Choreography.
The occasion was witnessed by the presence of Prof. Sandeep Bassi, Prof. Baldev Singh, Prof. Mandeep Singh, Prof. Sandeep Singh, Prof. Manpreet Singh Lehal, Prof. Gagandeep Singh, Prof. Ratnakar Mann, Prof. Karamjit Kaur, Prof. Jaspreet Kaur Bains and other staff members and a large number of students.
