Ludhiana, January 18, 2019: The Social Thinkers Forum (STF), Ludhiana in an interactive session held here today condemned the conspiracy to distort science and spread obscurantism through falsification of the scientific truth. Referring to the irrelevant remarks by the Vice Chancellor of the Andhra Pradesh University that Kauravs were born through stem cell research and test tube technology, Prof.Jagmohan – President Association for Democratic Rights (AFDR) said that such absurdity is beyond tolerance and must be opposed by all rationalist people. It is not the first time, earlier to, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given statement of advance plastic surgery in the ancient times where an elephant’s head could be put on human head. The Chief Minister of Tripura has been giving similar unscientific statement. Science, said Prof.Jagmohan a believes in evidence and evolution. The human society has evolved through the labour of man from ancient times to the present.

Dr Arun Mitra convener STF said that such statements are planned to falsely eullogise the ancient history and achievements and show to the world that India had great scientific achievements in the past. This is the ideology of the obscurantist forces of all types. The RSS which is the think tank such statement s is spreading such vicious propaganda and is reminiscent of the Nazi period in Germany. Mob lynching of human beings in the name of cow is a part of this conspiracy.

M S Bhatia – Co Convener of the forum said that all rationalist people should collectively raise voice against such obscurantism.
