Ludhiana, September 8, 2015: A series of Intra class competition “A Taste of Home” at GGNIMT Hotel Management Department comes to an end. Different sessions were organized for students of different class. Students participated in the competition and came up with a great show. All students were in teams and presented several mouthwatering dishes with great zeal and enthusiasm. The menu of each team was comprised of wide variety of appetizers, main course and desserts which impressed the judges & guests. Team A comprising of members Jaskirat Singh, Daljeet Singh, Gurjeet Singh and Inderpreet Kaur bagged the first prize. Two exceptional dishes were also announced as Best Dishes.
Chief guest from MOU Partner Hotel Fortune Park Klassik Ms.Monika Thakur, Asst HR & Training Manager and Mr.Gurdeep Singh, HR Asst were invited for the prize distribution ceremony. Mrs.Shantimani Sathwara,HOD,Dept of hotel Management, welcomed the guests and said such competitions are important for confidence building. In her extended lecture Ms.Monika explained the students about the hotel Industry in detail from the industry perspective. She emphasized on personal grooming and industry standards of a business hotels. Principal Dr. P.S.Khattra addressed the students and motivated the budding professionals.
Prof Manjit Singh Chhabra, Coordinator, in his speech said that with such kind of activities students can learn more about the practical aspects of the hotel industry.
