Gathering during International Nurses Day celebrated at DMCH, Ludhiana on Thursday.

Ludhiana, May 12, 2016: “International Nurses Day, 2016” was organised by DMCH College of Nursing, on 12 May, 2016 at auditorium, old DMCH.
The theme for the nurses’ day was, “Nurses: A force for Change: Improving health systems’ resilience”. Distinguished guests, faculty and students attended the celebration.
Shri Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary, DMCH and Shri G.C.Dhawan, vice-president, DMCH managing society were the honourable chief guests. The programme started with a welcome song by BSc (N) IV year students. Florence Nightingale profile was highlighted by Mrs.Shivani, Assistant Professor, followed by Cake Cutting Ceremony.
Unfolding of the Nurses Day theme was done by Mrs. Monika Sharma, Associate Professor.
A theme-based choreography and role play on new emerging roles in nursing were performed by B.Sc.(N) 2nd and 3rd year students. Pot painting competition was held and the winners were Ms. Prabhjot Kaur & Ms. Parveen B.Sc.(N) 3rd year, Ms. Harpreet Kaur & Ms. Sukhdeep Kaur B.Sc.(N) 2nd year and Ms. Haranjan & Ms. Noor Nimrat B.Sc.(N) 3rd year who got the first, second and third positions respectively. A poster competition was organised on “Save Water” where Ms Simran B.Sc.(N) 4th year stood first, Ms. Palakjeet B.Sc.(N) 3rd year second and Ms. Kamalpreet Kaur B.Sc.(N) 2nd year third. Whereas, in photography competition on ecosystem Ms. Ramanjeet B.Sc.(N) 1st year, Ms. Manishwar B.Sc.(N) 2nd year and Ms. Sukhdeep Kaur B.Sc.(N) 3rd year were judged for the top three positions respectively.
On this occasion, a demonstration on care and massage of newborn baby was done by Johnson & Johnson Company. Finally, the chief guest Shri Prem Kumar Gupta ji gave away the prizes to the winners of the competition. Marking the end of celebration, oath ceremony for B.Sc. (N) 4th year students was solemnized by Dr. (Mrs.) Jasbir Kaur, Principal and Mrs. Meenakshi John, Nursing Superintendent and recited by Mrs. Prabhjot Saini, Professor. Vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Nidhi Sagar, Vice Principal.
