Induction Program started for newcomer students of BHMCT & BTTM

Chandigarh, July 14, 2015: Induction Program started for the newcomer students of Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM) at University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management (UIHTM), Panjab University (PU) today. The four days Induction Programme would continue till July 17.

Promoter Antilog Vacations India Mr. Abhishek Jaiswal inaugurated the programme. While inaugurating this Programme Mr. Jaiswal advised the students to focus their efforts to become efficient professionals and ultimately become a valuable asset to the nation. Mr.Jaiswal further advised the students about the importance of discipline in their life as well in profession. He appreciated the initiative taken by UIHTM for organizing this programme which, he said is very useful for new entrants. He sensitized the students

about the supply gap of professionals in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry. He was of the view that students must read atleast one book each week and must work on proficiency on communication skills.

Director UIHTM Prof. Meenakshi Malhotra in her address gave an account of Induction Programme besides highlighting the need of such professionals. She also shared her mantra of success with the Students.

The main aim of this program is to familiarize the students about the challenges, which they are going to face. In this four day long programme, the new entrants will be exposed to the requirements of the tourism and hospitality industry. Besides Management

games, students will be put to soft skills training.

On the last day of the programme these newcomers will visit various hotels and different sightseeing places in Chandigarh. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
