Ludhiana, February 12, 2014: Sharing that the second edition of Indo-Pak International Trade Expo, IPEX-14, is being organised for four days from February 13-17 at Hotel Gulmor in Ludhiana, Upkar Singh Ahuja, Convener, Ludhiana Zone, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while addressing the press conference said that this would be the twelfth such expo in the series of trade fairs being organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote bilateral trade amongst the participating countries.
Riding on the huge response to IPEX, 2013 from the traders in particular and masses in general, said Ahuja, PHD Chamber has decided to continue this expo each year in Ludhiana.
Delving into the details of the Expo, Surjit Kaur, Deputy Director, PHD Chamber said, that the expo is spread over an area of 1100 sqms. The exhibits range from Pakistani onyx marble, textiles, dry fruits from Kabul, Kashmiri Carpets, Jaipur jewellery, home appliances, wellness and healthcare products, high-end leather bags and crockery, quilts, besides wrought iron furniture and artificial flowers among others.
“The very objective of organising such event is to engage masses in people to people dialogue leading to peace and harmony”, said Kaur, adding that the recent back to back trade delegations would usher in a new era of mutual buoyancy to expand their areas of mutual co-operation, which now remains premised on their new mantra of mutual accommodation and mutual benefit. “The aim”, said she, “is to build people to people (P2P) connect and then from people to P2P to B2B relations.
Appreciating the efforts and endeavours of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Khursheed Barlas, CEO, Pakistan World Trade and Expo Centre, while addressing the press conference, shared that credit definitely goes to such exhibitions and expos as these, which go a long way in confidence building.
