Ferozepur, August 19, 2016: Dr.Harshwardhan, the Union Minister of Science and Technology and Earth Science paid a visit to Hussainiwala to pay homage to the martyrs.
The Union Minister was accompanied by Vijay Sampla, State BJP President, MP and Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, National President, BJP Kisan Cell, Kamal Sharma, National Executive Committee Member, Sukhpal Singh Nannu, eX-MLA and State President, BJP Kisaan Cell and several other BJP leaders.
The Union Minister was here for a special programme “Yaad Karo Kurbani” organised by BJP to commemorate the prime sacrifices made by the martyrs on the 70th Year of Independence.
The Union Minister along with other BJP leaders, paid obeisance to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajgru and Sukhdev at the Martyr’s memorial at Hussainiwala.
On this occasion, Dr. Harshwardhan said due to the sacrifices made by the martyrs, we are able to enjoy the fresh air of freedom. He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has presented a great example by dedicating the 70th year of independence to the martyrs.
Later, while interacting with the media persons at the residence of Sukhpal Singh Nannu, former MLA, Dr.Harshwardhan said that Modi-led NDA government has done a laudable job during its two years of regime. He claimed that during Modi’s tenure as PM, India’s reputation has improved drastically, both at national and international level. He also enumerate several programmes initiated by the government including “Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna, Atal Pension Yojna and Make in India campaign” which will help the nation in becoming “Self reliant”.
During the press conference, the Union Minister said that the central government has a clear vision about its foreign policy. He said that India wants cordial relations with its neighbouring nations and the rest of the world. “However, the nation will not compromise on its sovereignty and security. The whole nation is united on these issues”, said Union Minister Dr. Harshwardhan.
Meanwhile the state BJP President also lauded the efforts of the PM and said that the whole nation will be benefitted with the passing of Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill.
Later, Dr. Harshwardhan along with Vijay Sampla and Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, attended the rally organised by Kisan Cell President and two time MLA Sukhpal Singh Nannu. While addressing the rally, Dr. Harshwardhan made the farmers of the region aware about the decisions made by the central government to boost the farming. He also made them aware about the new inventions in earth science which can help the farmers in augmenting their income.
On this occasion, DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur, R.K. Bakshi, SSP, Ferozepur, Sandip Singh Garha, SDM, Ferozepur, Davinder Bajaj, District President, Ferozepur, Ashwani Grover and other were present.
