World Health Day quiz held at DMCH

Ludhiana, April 7, 2016: Under the aegis of IAPSM Punjab Chapter, Department of Community Medicine, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana today organized World Health Day quiz.
On this occasion, Dr Anurag Chaudhary, Professor & Head of the department unfolded the Theme of “Beat Diabetes” and stressed upon the need for increasing awareness for prevention of diabetes amongst masses as every 5th diabetic in the world is an Indian and India is the diabetic capital of the world. Dr Parminder Singh, Head of the Department, Endocrinology addressed the students regarding Diabetes Mellitus. He discussed some interesting facts about diabetes such as 30 minutes of exercise, minimum 6-7 hours of sleep, healthy food such as fruits & vegetables daily are must for prevention of diabetes.
Four teams participated in the final round of the quiz. Quiz was conducted by Dr. Sangeeta Girdhar & Dr. Mahesh Satija of the department. Abhinav Gupta, Shivaansh Aggarwal and Vasu Gupta of MBBS Batch-2014 were declared winners.
