ICAT-2016 held in Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus

Jalandhar, July 20, 2016: An International Conference on Algal Technologies, Challenges and Solutions was organised on July 14 to 16 at Apeejay Institute of Management, Technical Campus, Rama Mandi, Hoshiarpur Road, Jalandhar. This conference was conducted by Rahul Budh Vihar Prabhandak Committee and Sevas Education Society, Andhra Pardesh and supported by IAPEN – Advancing Nutrition Care in India.
Mr. Dharam Pal, President, Rahul Budha Vihar Prabhandak Committee greeted all the distinguished guests. Experts from various Institutes/Universities delivered their expert talks on Algal Technologies, Functional Foods, Nutraceuticals and phycoremediation.
Dr SK Bhatnagar, Director Sant Biomedical Reserch Centre, Gwalior enlightened participants about cancer with his expert talk. Professor AS Ahluwalia, Punjab University Chandigarh, Dr Saroj Arora from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Dr Jackson Achankunju, Oman, Dr Amit Arora Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozpur, Dr Shahiknath Kommu, Department of Bio Technology & Microbiology, Kandi Serva Vishwavidyala, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Dr Binoy from Catholic ATE College, Kerela, Dr Archna Tiwari, School of Sciences, Noida International Universitiy, Noida shared their expert views on different aspects related to Algal, Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods.
Dr Siva from IAPEN planned and organised all the Technical sessions holistically. Dr Kanchan Sandhu, IAPEN Regional Officer for Jalandhar held a session on Functional Foods, Nutraceuticals and Health.
About 100 students from all across the country participated in the conference and over all 53 papers were presented. The students expressed that the conference was a great learning opportunity and also thanked Director Dr. Rajesh Bagga for a wonderful hospitality and conducive learning environment provided by the institute.
