Ludhiana, October 1, 2015: ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (ICAR-CIPHET) gave warm send off to Mr. Nichrous Mlalila, Research Scientist and Ph. D Scholar, The Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) of Tanzania has undergone research training on “Development of Polymeric Nanoparticles for Controlled Release Antimicrobial Packaging Material” from April 21, 2015 for about 5 months at ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana under Research Training Fellowship for Developing Country Scientists (RTF-DCS) – Award of Fellowship for 2014-15 sponsored by NAM S&T Centre, New Delhi. Dr. Dattatreya M. Kadam, Senior Scientist was the Host Scientist for Mr. Nichrous Mlalila.
Notably, Centre for Science and Technology of the Non-Aligned and Other Developing Countries, NAM S&T Centre, New Delhi has launched the prestigious RTF-DCS - Award of Fellowship for 2014-15, covering all areas of science and technology.
Training certificate to Mr. Nichrous Mlalila was distributed and he gained knowledge and experience in development and synthesis of nano-particles, development of polymers etc.
Mr Nichrous showed satisfaction over the training programme and term it is quite useful. He added that would like to get training in other post harvest areas as well. Dr. D.M. Kadam Senior Scientist and Host Scientist informed that it was first that institute provided training to a scientist from the Tanzania and institute would like to maintain long term relation with African nations.
