HODs directed to be present in Vidhan Sabha Session

Chandigarh, March 9, 2015: The Punjab Government has issued instructions to all the Heads of Department in the state to ensure their attendance during the forthcoming Budget Session of 14th Punjab Vidhan Sabha.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson said that the department heads are duty bound to provide the relevant material to the concerned minister in advance. The administrative secretaries have also been asked to ensure their presence in officers’ gallery of Vidhan Sabha during all the sittings. Their presence is expected especially during discussion on the bills of their departments, during Question Hours in which questions pertaining to their departments are raised, Call Attention Motions, Adjournment Motions etc.

The administrative secretaries could also depute their subordinate not below the rank of Under Secretary to take notes of the proceedings of the Vidhan Sabha. Further this information be submitted before the Minister and Principal Secretary concerned.

Instructions have also been issued to furnish the name of Coordination Officer, Name Address & telephone (Office & Residence) to the Secretary Punjab Vidhan Sabha, CM office and to Civil Control Room, Punjab Civil Secretariat so that Budget Session related information can directly sent to Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
