Chandigarh, September 20,2 2015: The Punjab Government has appointed IAS officers at district level to supervise the arrangements concerning availability, procurement, storage, lifting and payment of paddy for 2015-16.

            Stating this, an official spokesperson said that Mr.C.Roul, Principal Secretary, School Education has been designated as Nodal Officer for Fazilka and Sri Mukatsar Sahib, Mr. G. Vajralingam, Principal Secretary, Science Technology and Environment for Sangrur and Barnala, Mr. B. Sarkar, Secretary, Elections for S.A.S. Nagar and Roopnagar, Mr. Vishavjeet Khanna, Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development for Ludhiana and Moga, Mr. Sanjay Singh, Principal Secretary, Jails for S.B.S. Nagar and Hoshiarpur, Mr. Roshan Sunkaria, Financial Commissioner, Rural Development and Panchayat for Mansa and Bathinda.

            The spokesperson further said that Mr. R. Venkatratnam, Principal Secretary, Transport has been designated as Nodal Officer for Amritsar and Tarn Taran, Mr. A. Venu Parshad, Secretary, Power for Jalandhar and Kapurthala, Mr. Vivek Partap Singh, Secretary, Vigilance for Gurdaspur and Pathankot, Mr. Ajit Singh Pannu, Commissioner, Patiala Division, Patiala for Patiala and Fatehgarh Sahib while Mr. V.K. Meena, Secretary Revenue for  Ferozpur and Faridkot.

            The spokesperson also informed that these officers would visit the districts allotted to them to supervise the every aspect of procurement process at least twice before 30 September, 2015 and report to Principal Secretary/Chief Minister, Principal Secretary/Deputy Chief Minister and Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. He said that these officers would also be the overall in charge of all the arrangements till the end of paddy season.
