Deepali Jain, Srishti Agarwal both from Hyderabad selected to showcase their designs and talent at Lakme Fashion Week 2019 from South West India

Hyderabad, April 29, 2019: Deepali Jain, Fashion Design Student of INIFD, Himayathnagar and Srishti Agarwal, Interior Designer from INIFD, High-tech City selected to showcase their designs and talent at Lakme Fashion Week from Hyderabad zone.

Deepthi Jain was chosen in a live voting process for her design concept “Cool at School”. The design is the outcome of my dream to wear fashionable and cool uniforms during the school days. When everything is trendy, why can’t school inform be a designer wear asked Deepali Jain.

Srishti AGARWAL an Interior Design student was voted as winner for her concept Industrial Fashion. Both will showcase their talent at Lakme Fashion Week to be held later in this year.

A total of 46 designers both Fashion and Interior Designers from Pune, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hubli, Bhubaneshwar showcased their design talent to a panel of judges in this qualifying round. Off these 26 were Fashion Designers and 20 Interior Designers.

The two Designers who were selected would get an exclusive opportunity to showcase at INIFD Launchpad during Lakme Fashion Week. And the selected Interior Design student gets a chance to Design Sets of 5 Designer Shows at Lakmé Fashion Week informed Ritu Kochhar, Corporate Director of INIFD and Sanjay Saraswath of INIFD, Himayathnagar.

Bollywood actress Adah Sharma was the special attraction at the event. I was impressed with the creative talent of the budding designers, said Adah Sharma.

8 Models in one round (covering 4 Fashion Students - 2 garments each) showcased the garments. Then 4 Interior Design Presentations presented on stage one by one and explained the Design concept of Set Design and prototype/sample (optional). LIVE scoring was given by jury members.

A Curated Talk was also organised under the banner The Design Festival prior to the competition and selection process. It was a Season 2. The objective of it was Celebrating Fashion & Interior Design.

It was organised by INIFD—International Institute of Fashion Design, the largest global network of design institutes in association with IMG Reliance, a Collaborative venture of Reliance (a Fortune 500 company and the largest private sector corporation in India) and IMG(A global leader in sports, fashion, events and media).

The Panelists judges included

Anushree Reddy---A Hyderabad based renowned Fashion Designer, designer for many Bollywood Celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit and many others

Aamir Sharma---A city based Celebrity Interior Designer whose clients among others include Allu Arjun, Suniel Shetty and many others

Jaspreet Chandok---Vice President & Head of Fashion IMG Reliance

Shefalee Vasudev---Editor of ‘The Voice of Fashion

Aman Verma, the hero of daily soaps, actor, model hosted the The Design Festival, Season 2.

The talk show was moderated by veteran fashion journalist and the Editor of The Voice of Fashion. Giving her opening remarks she said Hyderabad is the 3rd Indian Fashionable Metro city. Hyderabad and Bangalore are the Fashion Smart Cities in India.

She explained what was Fashion Smart city. The city must have relevant events, fashion stores, should have ripple effect of Bollywood, Tollywood, business and a booming economy to be called as Fashion Smart City, Shefalee explained.

Reddys are Punjabis of Hyderabad, Shefalee observed while talking about one of the panelists Anushree Reddy..

Participating in the talk, Anushree Reddy said being a designer is a challenge. The product is dynamic in this industry. It changes every day.

Anushree Reddy told the four hundred plus gathering of designers gathered from various cities in the country to be original in their designs. She told them to develop their own and unique style.

Aamir Sharma told that he is in Interior Design because he likes sketches.

The panel answered many questions of the budding designers and clarified their doubts.
