HMV organising Inspire Internship Science Camp from Jan 6-10

Jalandhar, January 3, 2015: Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar is going to organise Inspire Internship Science Camp from January 6-10.  The innovation in science pursuit for Inspired Research (Inspire) camp is sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology, GoI under the Scheme for Early Attraction of Talent (SEATS).  The top 1% merit holders in class 10th board Exams and pursuing science at 11th standard are motivated to take up research as personal undertaking by interacting icons of science including Nobel Prize winners.  

Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj told the media persons that in the first camp they are expecting around 200 participants from various schools from Jalandhar and other districts of Punjab for this life long experience.  The camp will consists of lectures, demonstrations, hands on practical, workshops, visits and interactive sessions in a five day schedule.  

Coordinator of the Camp and Head of Bioinformatics Department Harpreet Singh told that the eminent scientists from the top research and academic institutes from India including Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, Madurai Kamraj University, Madurai, Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, Indian Institute of Science Education & Research, Mohali.  National Institute of Pharmaceuticals Education & Research, Mohali, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Thapar University, Patiala and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar will be acting as resource persons.  Students will learn basics and advances in various fields of sciences including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics etc.  This camp will motivate students to have a scientific and research based approach.
