Heroin worth Rs.150 Crore recovered from Ferozepur Village

Ferozepur, April 14, 2016: In a joint operation which was carried out by a team of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and BSF, thirty packets heroin worth Rs.150 Crore was recovered from Village Bareke besides two persons were arrested. A consignment of artillery including one pistol (9mm), 61 cartridges and four magazines was also recovered.
Giving details, Ashok Kumar Yadav, DIG BSF and Naveen Jain, ADG, DRI said that following the inputs a joint team of BSF and DRI had raided at the house of one Parkash Singh alias Mintu (25) son of Pyara Singh at his native village Bareke. “Though, nothing was recovered from his house, Pyara Singh admitted that he had concealed a huge consignment of heroin and artillery at some other place. He took us to that place where his brother-in-law Angresj Singh son of Labh Singh was also present. They had kept the consignment in a deserted Army bunker which was later recovered by the DRI team and BSF troops belonging to 105 Battalion”, said BSF and DRI officials while addressing the media persons.
However, the BSF and DRI official though remained tight-lipped over the location of recovery.
