Ferozepur, January 4, 2013: A meeting to give information with regard to commissioning of Women Helpline by the police department, was held with the heads of the schools and colleges by Varinderpal Singh, SSP Ferozepur.
On this occasion, Lakhbir Singh, SP(HQ)), Raghbir Singh, SP(D), Vibhore Kumar Sharma, DSP(HQ) and Dr.Madhu Pashar, principal Dev Samaj, College for Women and others were present.
SSP informed that the patrolling around the girls school and colleges have been intensified and nakas have also been put up and all the DSPs and in-charge police stations have been directed to make arrangements of security.
He further said that a helpline (01632-249261 and 1097) by the police has been started and anybody can call on those numbers for the security of the girls and women.
SSP assured that immediately on getting a call on these numbers, the police will reach on the given spot.
He, however, appealed to the managements of the schools and colleges to install CCTV cameras outside their premises so that an eye is kept on the unscrupulous and anti-social elements.
