Sikandar Singh Maluka, Education Minister, Punjab receives a draft amounting to Rs. 3 lakh from the President of the Punjab School Lecturer Union Hakam Singh towards Chief Minister's relief fund for Uttarakhand disaster.

Chandigarh, July 24, 2013: Sikandar Singh Maluka, Education Minister, Punjab received a draft amounting to Rs. 3 lakh from the President of the Punjab School Lecturer Union Hakam Singh towards Chief Minister's relief fund for Uttarakhand disaster.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister appreciated the efforts of the school fraternity for having contributed generously towards CM relief fund. He said that the gesture was absolutely in line with the true spirit of the Punjabis in general particularly of Punjab. Every Punjabi has felt the pain of the tragedy, he added. The minister also ensured the union leaders that the amount donated would be sent to Uttarakhand victims for rehabilitating them.

Pradeep Kumar General Secretary and Sukhdev Singh Rana (retd.) along with the senior officers of the department were present on the occasion.
