Punjab bags Krishi Karman Award 2013-14
Chandigarh, December 17, 2014: In another major shot in arm of the state, Punjab has been selected by the Union government for the Krishi Karman Award 2013-14 as the best performing state in overall food grains production.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that in a communiqué, the Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh apprised the state government with regard to this decision. He said that the Union government would soon organise a function to felicitate the state for this rare feat. Appreciating the state government for this achievement, Radha Mohan Singh urged the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to receive this award on the behalf of the state.
Pertinently, this prestigious award consists of a trophy, citation and a cash award of Rs 5 crore.
It may be recalled that under the dynamic, visionary and far sighted leadership of the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal the state has also bagged “Krishi Karman Award” for record production of food grains during year 2010-11.
