Haryana Government considering to restart examination from class I to VIII in state: CM

Chandigarh, May 25, 2015: Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal Khattar said that State Government is considering to restart examination from class I to VIII in the state which was abolished by the previous government. The recent results of X and XII standards have shown the adverse affects of this decision.

The Chief Minister was addressing the media persons after visiting Gita Niketan Residential Schools at Kurukshetra today.

He said that with a view to ensure improvement in teaching level in the schools, quality improvement programme through remedial teaching would be implemented on priority basis. Monthly test scheme has been introduced in schools to improve the education level of students.  Apart from this, Teacher Diary has been made mandatory to create a sense of self discipline. He said that previous government had never paid any heed to education sector. The present government wants to make future citizens educated and was, therefore, seriously working in this direction. The education level in the state is being improved gradually. For this, State government would obtain assistance of private educational institutes and educationists.

In reply to a question, the Chief Minister said that there are ample opportunities of tourism everywhere in Haryana. The state government is setting up a state level museum at Panchkula. Besides, government is also working on many schemes to develop Kurukshetra as cultural centre so that the town could get identity at international level. He said that excavation of Saraswati river is in progress. Also,   possibilities of tourism ventures are being explored on Saraswati track the   Government is   working on this project, he added.
