Harvesting combines operating beyond schedule time to be confiscated

Ferozepur, September 30, 2012: Dr. S. Karuna Raju, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur while making an appeal to the farmers relating to procurement of paddy during Kharif season 2012-13 said the during the season, the paddy with moisture up to 17 per cent will only be procured. 

He further said that farmers should bring their dry produce in the mandis as by bringing the wet paddy in the mandi, it not only causes delay in procurement, the grains also go damage on going black. He also said that harvesting of paddy crop should be done with only new and of good condition combines. 

He added that sometimes farmers get their crop harvested with old combines which badly affect the quality of the grains.

Deputy Commissioner making  an appeal to the farmers said that paddy harvesting time has been fixed from 10 am to 7 pm and the harvesting should be done within the fixed time and the combines operating beyond the scheduled time, will be confiscated and case will be registered against the concerned combine owner. 

He further informed that sub-divisional magistrates and tehsildars of the district have been put on duty in their areas to get implemented these instructions and take strict action against those who violates the same.
