Guruharsahai Girl Jyoti Sharma Brings Laurels

Ferozepur, June 16, 2015: Jyoti Sharma, a resident of Guruharsahai Sub Division of Ferozepur has brought laurels by securing a berth in IIT Mumbai. It is pertinent to mention here that Jyoti has achieved this milestone after clearing prestigious GATE test and now she has become the only student of Punjab for beings selected to complete her Ph.D (Physics) at IIT Mumbai. 

Elated over her success, Satish Kumar, who is working as clerk said that it is like dream come true for us. “I am proud that my daughter has achieved this huge milestone”, he added.

Jyoti Sharma had secured 26th Position in Punjab (1st in District) by securing 88.4% Marks in matriculation examination of Punjab School Education Board in 2006. In 10+2 (2008) , she secured 87.3% marks and was placed at 16th amongst overall toppers of the state. In 2011, she secured 89.9% Marks in her B.Sc. Exams (2nd in Panjab University, 1st in District) and in 2013, she secured 2nd University Position again, this time however in Panjabi University, Patiala by securing 82.3% Marks. Her father told that she has also worked as a lecturer in a Ferozepur based private college.
