Ludhiana, April 11, 2016: The Punjab government-run Industrial Training Institutes (ITI's) would now provide skilled and trained manpower to the industry as per their requirements. This was stated by Mr MP Singh, Principal Secretary, Department of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab, while inaugurating Automobile Skill Enhancement Centre (ASEC) for Diesel Mechanic Trade at Government ITI on Gill Road, here today. This machinery for setting up of this centre has been provided by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, while Rs 1.5 lakh has been donated by leading industrialist Mr Upkar Singh.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr MP Singh informed that this ASEC would train skilled manpower as per the requirements of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. He said that this initiative would help the students in a big way and would also help them in securing jobs in the company.
An MoU for upgradation of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning trade was also signed between ITI and Godrej & Boyce today. Mrs Daljit Kaur Sidhu, Additional Director, Department of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab, said that with the signing of this MoU, Godrej & Boyce would be providing equipment after which skilled manpower would be trained as per their requirements.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Mr S K Choudhary, Vice President, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Mr Baljinder Singh, Principal, Industrial Training Institute, besides several others. A cultural function was also held on the occasion.
