5th GIAN Workshop under CRICKS concludes at PU

Chandigarh, November 26, 2016: Six day long prestigious workshop on the theme “Discovery of Drugs Targeting G Protein-coupled Receptors” concluded at SAIF/CIL, Panjab University (PU) here today.
The workshop was organized under GIAN (Global Initiative of Academic Networks) and under the aegis of Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster (CRIKC).
DAV University, Jalandhar, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ashok K. Paul graced the occasion and deliberated about the importance of such workshops. He also showed his interest in conducting such workshops in collaboration with PU.
Course Coordinator Prof. Ranju Bansal recapitulated the 6 day proceedings and commended everyone for the successful culmination of this workshop.
Prof. Karl-Norbert Klotz, an eminent speaker from Germany, with expertise in the field of Pharmacology accentuated about the different aspects of the theme of the workshop. He also applauded the organizers for his one week smooth stay in city
beautiful.
Director, SAIF/CIL, Professor S.K. Mehta elaborated the information about the facilities available at SAIF/CIL and highlighted the major objectives of the GIAN program under MHRD. He concluded the workshop with a vote of thanks and invited
the participants for the upcoming GIAN workshop.
