OVERALL ELECTIONS REMAINED PEACEFUL FEROZEPUR, May 19, 2019: A Congress supported member of Panchayat from Village Ramewala has been allegedly attacked by some SAD workers while he was coming back to his residence along with his family members after casting the vote. The Panchayat member who is also the “Nambardar” of the Village has been identified as Angrej Singh. As per information available, Angrej had gone to Village Peere Ke to cast his vote on his Maruti Zen car (PB 13 4711) today morning at around 10 am along with his father Darbara Singh, his four years old son Fatehdeep Singh and two women belonging to his Village Harjeet Kaur and Veerpal Singh. He said that when he was coming back, 8-10 SAD workers including Daljit Singh, Balwinder Singh, Gurdev Singh, Tarsem Singh and others confronted him. “They were in two cars. They stopped me on the way and attacked me with sharp edged weapons and baseball bats and ran away from spot after that.”, said Angrej. Meanwhile the Congress workers broke the window panes of the car which was allegedly used by the SAD workers. He was admitted in the civil hospital. However, no case has been registered till now. 63.11 PERCENT POLLING TILL 6.00 PM. IN FEROZEPUR In the morning, there were some problem in the EVM machines at Village Shakurwala and Saide Ke, both in Mamdot block due to which the polling had started around twenty minutes late. Besides, the EVM at Village Khui Khera in Fazilka district (Booth Number 202) also faced some technical problem for some time. At other place, the election process remained peaceful however minor incidents of scuffle between SAD and Congress workers were reported. Overall 63.11 percent votes have been polled in Ferozepur constituency till 6.00 pm. In Ferozepur (City) 52.72%, in Ferozepur (Rural) 60.50%, in Guruharsahai 64%, in Jalalabad 67%, in Fazilka 65.47%, in Abohar 65%, in Balluana 67.12%, in Malout 64.04% and Muktsar 62.29% voters have exercised their right to vote till 6.00 pm. SUKHBIR AND GHUBAYA CLAIMED VICTORY Meanwhile both Ghubaya and Sukhbir claimed that they will secure thumping victory. When contacted Ghubaya said that he has full faith in his God and definitely he is going to win.
