Ferozepur, May 18, 2016: In an impressive programme organised by district administration today, twenty five trainees of Skill Development Centre in Ferozepur were provided the cheques of bank loan to start a new life. DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur said that the scheme which was started in tune with “Make in India” initiative mooted by the central government, had been contributing in eradicating unemployment from this border area.
The Deputy Commissioner while addressing the congregation said that the district administration is providing training to jobless youth of this border region at Mamdot, Guruharsahai and Ferozepur City. He said that these trainees have been given the training in knitting, cutting, tailoring, sweater; socks which is making them enable to earn handsome money.
D.P.Chandan, Chairman, District Planning Commission, said that after completing their training, the administration also helps them in getting loan from banks at nominal interest to start their new venture. “The motive behind this scheme is to make people independent”, said Chandan.
On this occasion, Jugraj Singh Katora, Chairman, Market Committee, Ferozepur, Surinder Singh Babbu, Vice-President, Cantonment Board, Ferozepur Cantt., S.S.Dhaliwal, Manager, Lead Bank, Gurjant Singh, Manager, District Industry Centre, Sanjeev Maini, Ashok Jindal and others were present.
