FEROZEPUR CS: Medical check up compulsory before proceeding on Amarnath Yatra

Ferozepur, March 19, 2013: The medical check-up of Amarnath pilgrims devotees will be compulsory before proceeding, said Gurdit Singh Sodhi, Cvil Surgeon, Ferozepur.

He said, alarmed over the rising number of deaths of Amarnath pilgrims en-route the cave shrine, a thorough medical check up before undertaking the pilgrimage is compulsory from the district health department and after the examination, a certificate to this effect will also be issued. A prescribed performa can also be downloaded from website of Health and Family Welfare Department – www.pbhealth.gov.in for this medical check up.
